Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) Another Attempt to Get Benefits From ChatGPT on Ad Business

Date:

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) rise around 2% in pre trading session on Monday as Kya Sainsbury-Carter assumes control of Microsoft Corp.’s digital advertising division, she has a brand-new toy at her disposal: chatbots.

Ms. Sainsbury-Carter, a 17-year Microsoft veteran, was appointed the organization’s $18 billion advertising business’s first female leader in March. Her hiring came shortly after Microsoft tested paid advertising links in chat results and integrated the popular chatbot ChatGPT into its Bing search engine. Microsoft holds a 49% interest in OpenAI, the firm that created ChatGPT.

Microsoft recently unveiled an artificial intelligence-powered redesign of its Bing search engine and Edge web browser, weeks after announcing intentions to spend billions in OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT.

At a news conference at its Redmond, Washington headquarters, Microsoft stated that with the upgrades, Bing will not only deliver a list of search results but will also respond to inquiries, communicate with users, and create content.

The changes coincide with a surge in interest in AI chatbot technologies brought on by ChatGPT’s success in going viral. Now, a number of internet behemoths are vying to provide comparable tools that might revolutionize how we write essays, prepare emails, and do online research. Google stated intentions to provide an identical artificial intelligence product to ChatGPT in the next weeks one day before the event.

In collaboration with OpenAI, Bing will utilize a huge language model that is more potent than the one that powers ChatGPT. To provide replies to user prompts and questions, these models are trained on massive troves of web data.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated during the event on Tuesday that “rapid innovation is going to come. It’s a new paradigm for search.” In reality, a race gets underway today. Every day, we want to introduce new products, but more than anything, we want to enjoy ourselves while advancing search technology.

By attracting more people to its online search tools and raising the demand for advertisements on its platform, Microsoft also stated that the upgraded capabilities are anticipated to support its digital advertising business.
